Hernia is a medical condition that results in protrusion of contents of an organ. It can occur anywhere in the body, but usually develops in the abdominal wall. Weakness of the muscle wall is the main cause of hernia, which leads to the development of a hole. Inguinal hernia is the most common; however, femoral, umbilical, and abdominal hernia can also occur. A small, painful, and visible swelling with few symptoms is the most common presentation of this condition.
