PSA Test: When to do and What it means for You
PSA stands for Prostate Specific Antigen. It is a blood test primarily performed for screening prostate cancer. This test measures the quantity of prostate specific antigen in your blood. Initially, this test was approved by the FDA to monitor the progress of the disease in men already diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, since a few years, FDA approved the PSA test along with digital rectal examination to test asymptomatic men for prostate cancer.
